Ohmigawsh... I'm gonna sound like I'm 13 years old here, but bear with me. I got to talk - like, talking back and forth - with one of my favorite musicians!!!! Albeit, it was through MySpace messages back and forth, but that's about the best you can do when you're in Florida and he's in San Francisco. But it was still friggin' AMAZING!!!!
So, I noticed that he was gonna be in concert in the 'glades on March 7th, and was kinda bummed, because that's when MegaCon is, March 7th - 9th. I told

I had added him as a friend on MySpace, and she suggested I write him and tell him to go perform at the con afterward. I figured it would be a long shot that he'd actually read it, much less do anything about it. However, being the impulsive sort, I went ahead and wrote him. Took a day or two, but my jaw almost fell off when I went on MySpace and saw he actually wrote me back. He really appreciated me giving him info about a possible venue and all that, although he said he probably wouldn't be able to make it. Then we wrote back and forth for a few days, just like about concerts and similar stuff. Then *here's the part where I screw it up; I always make a mess of everything* in the last message I sent, I wrote, "I know you've got a lot on your plate, and if you can't write back anymore, that's fine. But I'm not complaining!!!" So, as it figures, I haven't heard back from him since. GGGGGAAAAAAAHHHHH.... oh well, it wasn't bound to last forever, anyways. He so freaking nice, though, just like we were two old friends.

Most people don't get to talk to their favorite music artists at all, so I'm quite lucky!!!!
Anyways, in case you wondered:
Bassnectar is an electronica DJ from San Francisco, California (my home state... I've been to San Fran a million times). He does gigs all over the country, and has quite a large "cult" following. He makes his own stuff and does remixes. To top it all off, he released his first mainstream album on my 18th birthday!!! His real name is Lorin Ashton (which is what I called him... I think people like hearing their own names), and I think he's
reeeally hot... LOL.
